TROAS. Alexandria Troas. Commodus, 177-192. 'As' (Bronze, 23 mm, 7.02 g, 1 h). COMMODVS ANTONINVS A Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Commodus to right, seen from behind. Rev. COL AVG TROAD Horse grazing right; behind, herdsman standing right, holding pedum and looking down; to left, tree. Bellinger pl. 19, A236 = BMC 67 and pl. V, 7 = RPC IV online 194.1 (same dies). A splendid bronze with a magnificent green patina. Extremely fine.
